The muzzle end of the case is rounded for comfort, but has enough opening to accommodate most common extended barrels and threaded barrels (with thread protectors). The muzzle opening is specially designed to allow foreign objects (such as spent casings) to fall out, so there is nothing to prevent the gun from being safely stowed again.

The ambidextrous holster body has both internal and external body-height shields. These body shields not only provide the pistol with some protection from perspiration, but also prevent chafing of skin and clothing (especially the thin material used to line sport coats and jackets) by the rear serrations of the slide. It also provides increased safety by preventing cover clothing or other foreign objects from falling into the holster mouth while the pistol is being drawn, and helps maintain proper and secure muzzle orientation when re-holstering.
